Freesat to offer BBC’s 24 HD Olympic Channels

Freesat
will carry all of the BBC’s 24 live HD Olympic channels throughout the
London 2012 Olympics, offering the full range of live BBC Olympics
coverage, bringing every Olympic sport from every Olympic venue.
In
addition to the 24 temporary BBC HD Olympics channels listed in the
Freesat TV Guide, Freesat viewers will also be able to access the live
‘streams’ via the BBC Red Button service. Freesat’s customers with
standard definition boxes will also be able to see all of the 24 BBC
Olympics channels in standard definition.
The BBC will be providing
live coverage of 10 races in the 2012 Formula 1 season across all its
platforms.
For the remainder, there will be extended highlights on television and
full live coverage on radio and online, including audio commentary.
The extended highlights programmes will be on BBC One, although start
times and duration will depend on race location.
Races in the Far Eastern time zone will have highlights broadcast in the
early afternoon, with those in Europe in the early evening (generally of 90
minutes' duration), and races in the Americas later that night.
The BBC's coverage of all the live races will be as extensive as ever,
with all the action on and off the track across TV, radio, online, red
button and mobile.
For the races that are not live on BBC One, there will be live commentary
on Radio 5 Live and the BBC Sport website.
In detail, the coverage will be as follows:
